Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB) has recently been awarded as one of the top ten (10) sustainable banks of Bangladesh by Bangladesh Bank based on its performance in 2020. Earlier, Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Department (SFD) prepared a list of top 10 sustainable banks and five non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) based on their performances and published their names on its website based on a rating. Bangladesh Bank has published such a rating based on four indicators such as Sustainable Finance, Green Refinance, Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) and Core Banking Sustainability. On this context, Sustainable Finance Department (SFD) of Bangladesh Bank has arranged an event titled `Sustainability Rating Recognition Ceremony’ held at Jahangir Alam Conference Room, Head Office of Bangladesh Bank, Motijheel, Dhaka to recognize the sustainable banks and NBFIs in a befitting manner.
Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Deputy Managing Director & CBO of Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB) has received a certificate & crest as recognition from Fazle Kabir, Governor of Bangladesh Bank. BB Governor Fazle Kabir, as the Chief Guest, handed over the certificates & crests amongst the representatives from other sustainable banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) for the year 2020 and 2021. Abu Farah Md. Nasser, Deputy Governor, BB was present during the event as Special Guest while Nurun Nahar, Executive Director, BB presided over the event as Chairperson. A.K.M Sajedur Rahman Khan, Deputy Governor and Khondkar Morshed Millat, Director, Sustainable Finance Department were also present and graced the event.
On this auspicious moment, Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Deputy Managing Director & CBO, MTB, termed this appreciation as a source of great encouragement for the MTBians. We prioritize to finance in environment-friendly projects and encourage green banking in order to ensure sustainable development within our capacity. In case of the Bank’s CSR, we try to work for the society, country and its people mainly in education, health and disaster management sectors apart from other sectors. He expressed his gratitude to Bangladesh Bank for recognizing MTB as one of the top ten sustainable banks.
