Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB), has signed a partnership with BizCare, a CSR research & consultancy firm in Bangladesh, to support “The Mangrove Children” project. In this regard, a signing ceremony was held at the bank’s Corporate Head Office, MTB Centre, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212 recently.
The innovative project aims to raise awareness amongst the secondary level students of Kolbari Nekjania High School in Munshiganj under Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira district who reside near the world’s largest mangrove forest- the Sundarbans- to conserve and sustain this natural habitat, and mitigate the challenges faced due to climate change. An Eco-Library will also be set up at the school in addition to solar powered teaching aids like laptop, multimedia projector etc. The library, the first of its kind and the only one in the area, will feature books and publications related to ecology, biodiversity etc. Mohiuddin Babar, Chief Executive, BizCare and Rashed A. Chowdhury, Ex-Chairman and current Director of MTB, exchanged the signed documents on behalf of their respective organizations. Khondoker Riazul Haque, Head of Communications of BizCare, Anis A. Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Md. Hashem Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Azad Shamsi, Head of Other Division Branches, Amitav Kaiser, Head of Group Infrastructure, Sami Al Hafiz, Group Chief Communications Officer of MTB and other senior officials of both the organizations were also present at the occasion.
