On the eve of International MSME Day 2025, MTB unveiled an enriched version of MTB Avatar to serve SME customers. The bank earlier launched this bot to offer products and banking services. Now, it comes with more equipped SME features such as SME Loans, Deposits, LC, BG and refinancing schemes offered by Bangladesh Bank etc.
It is an intelligent bot designed to guide users and interact with customers by listening and engaging in conversations on various topics. This platform will drive mass financial inclusion and literacy by reaching SME customers in remote areas. It will function as a virtual SME RM for each customer.
On the other hand, MTB has opened SME CD accounts digitally at customer premises to mark the day. This initiative ensures seamless digital account opening without visiting branches and completes the process in the shortest time.
The esteemed Director of SME&SPD of Bangladesh Bank, Nawshad Mustafa, graced the event as Chief Guest. MTB’s Managing Director (Acting), Chowdhury Akhtar Asif presided over the event to emphasize dedication to empower SMEs.
Among others, Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Director, SME&SPD of Bangladesh Bank; Abdul Mannan, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Branch Banking Division; Khalid Hossin, Chief Digital Officer and Sanjib Kumar Dey, Head of SME & Agri Banking Division of MTB, along other senior officials of the bank, were also present at the program.
