Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has launched its Digital Student File Portal named MTB Smart Student Banking, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the market designed to digitalize and simplify the Student File opening and payment journey for Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education abroad.
The portal was officially launched on 01 October 2026 at MTB Centre, Corporate Head Office, in the presence of MTB’s Managing Director & CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman, AMD & CBO Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, DMD & HoRetail Md. Shafquat Hossain, DMD & HoTreasury Md. Shamsul Islam, DMD & COO Md. Bakhteyer Hossain, DMD & HoBBD A.K.M. Tareq, Chief Digital Officer Khalid Hossin, Head of Retail Business & Chief Bancassurance Officer Tahsin Shahid, Head of Student Banking Md. Arifur Rahman, Head of Core Banking Systems & Project Management Department Sharif Ahmed and senior officials from relevant business and support units.
With the launch of the new digital platform, students planning to study abroad will be able to initiate their Student File applications remotely from their preferred location. Students can register through the portal, provide the required information, upload relevant documents and track the status of their applications digitally.
The initiative is expected to improve customer convenience, processing efficiency, turnaround time, document traceability and overall transparency, while maintaining the required regulatory and internal control framework.
The launch represents another significant milestone in MTB’s digital transformation journey and reinforces Bank’s commitment to providing innovative, convenient and technology-driven banking solutions for the student community.
