MTB Foundation commemorates World Water Day 2026 by inaugurating Project ‘Jol Torongo’ in Moulvibazar

MTB Foundation, to commemorate World Water Day 2026 and celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Water and Gender’, recently inaugurated three Water Access Hubs under the project ‘Jol Torongo’ for the vulnerable communities of Kagabala, Prem Nagar and Satbagh of Moulvibazar District. The project aims to cater to a large underprivileged segment of the region by resolving their long-standing safe water and sanitation crises. The initiative exemplifies MTB Foundation’s objective to support the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Project ‘Jol Torongo’, a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) initiative of MTB Foundation, reflects the real spirit of the World Water Day by converting awareness into meaningful action at the grassroots level. MTB Foundation underscores the expansion of the project in hard-to-reach regions of the country to ensure dependable access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation, thus, strengthening resilience against environmental vulnerabilities.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer and Nazmus Sakib, Associate from MTB Foundation. Among others, Wahidul Islam Sikder, Director, Shepherds Bangladesh was also present at the event.
