To commemorate the Bank’s 27th anniversary, MTB Foundation recently launched Syed Manzur Elahi Memorial Scholarship Program in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka under the ‘Education’ sector.
Under the Scholarship Program, fifty underprivileged meritorious students of the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka are being financially supported on a monthly basis as a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Bank’s Founding Chairman, Late Syed Manzur Elahi, who was a proud alumnus of the Department, in addition to being a visionary entrepreneur, a respected industrialist and an eminent philanthropist.
Munize Manzur, Sponsor Shareholder, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB), and Principal, Sunbeams School Ltd, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Kazi Mohammad Mahbobor Rahman, Dean (Acting), Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka, was present as the Special Guest. The program was also attended by Dr. Firdousi Naher, Chairperson, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO, Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, Additional Managing Director and CBO, Rais Uddin Ahmad, Md.
