Mutual Trust Bank PLC Wins National Cyber Drill 2026

Mutual Trust Bank PLC has been recognized as the Champion of the prestigious “National Cyber Drill 2026,” demonstrating its strong commitment to cyber security excellence and digital resilience in Bangladesh’s banking sector.

The nationwide cyber security exercise was organized by the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) under the ICT Division with the objective of strengthening the country’s cyber defense capabilities and assessing institutional preparedness against evolving cyber threats.

Held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the highly competitive drill brought together 68 teams from banks, financial institutions, and other organizations associated with Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) across the country. Participating teams were evaluated through a series of real-world cyber security challenges, including risk auditing, networking, cryptography, reverse engineering, web security, incident response, digital forensics, and threat analysis.

Demonstrating exceptional technical expertise and strategic capability, MTB’s IT Security team “CyberSavvy” secured the Championship title with the highest score of 5,750 points, outperforming all competing teams in the national contest.

In the competition, Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC’s team “DBBL Cyber Squad” secured the Runner-up position, while Community Bank Bangladesh PLC’s team “CBBL Warrior” achieved Third Place.

The drill was conducted under the overall guidance of Dr. Md. Toiyobur Rahman, Director General of the National Cyber Security Agency. Speaking on the occasion, Md. Hossain Bin Amin, Director (Operation-2), emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening coordinated national cyber defense capabilities and enhancing preparedness against emerging cyber threats.

This achievement fuels MTB’s drive to reach an even higher standard of technological and cybersecurity excellence and continue shaping a forward looking financial institution for Bangladesh.
