As part of its week long World Environment Day 2025 celebration, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) rolled out a joyful, employee driven campaign titled “Old Stuff, New Life – Adopt a Tree.”
On June 2–3, 2025, staff across MTB donated gently used clothes, books, toys and electronics. For every item received, the Bank pledged to plant a mangrove sapling in a designated coastal area of Bangladesh, each tree dedicated in the donor’s name.
To multiply the impact, MTB collaborated with Lal Sabuj Society (LSS), a youth led non profit, to deliver the donated goods to communities in need. The forthcoming mangrove plantation—undertaken with the Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS)—will bolster coastal ecosystems and long term climate resilience.
This simple swap of “old for new” showed that meaningful climate action can begin with what we already have—turning small acts of generosity into living, growing gifts for the planet.
