Mr. Samson H. Chowdhury, a recognized entrepreneur
of the country, is the Chairman of Mutual Trust
Bank. This prolific business magnate with variegated
experience is a Senior Cambridge and he participated
in the Management Training Course jointly conducted
by the University of Dhaka and the Harvard University.
He has been an icon in the country's pharmaceutical
industry and is Chairman to the reputed conglomerate
Square. Mr. Samson H Chowdhury was born on 25
September, 1925. |

| After
completing education in India he returned to the
then East Pakistan and settled at Ataikula village
in Pabna district. In 1952, he started a small
pharmacy in Ataikula village which is about 160
km off capital Dhaka in the north-west part of
Bangladesh. Mr. Samson H Chowdhury then ventured
into a partnership pharmaceutical company with
three of his friends named Square in 1958. Today
SQUARE is one of the largest groups in Bangladesh
from that tiny little company. Furthermore, he
is the President of Bangladesh Association of
Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC), Chairman of
Central Depository Ltd and Shabazpur Tea Estate
as well as life member of Transparency International,
Bangladesh Chapter and its former Chairman. |

Arif Dowla is the Vice Chairman of Mutual Trust
Bank. He is the Managing Director of Advanced
Chemical Industries Limited. He obtained PhD degree
in Mathematics from the University of California,
San Diego. He is also a member of the American
Mathematical Society. His doctoral dissertation
was on non-stationary stochastic processes, which
is a field of study related to probability theory
and statistics. His thesis advisor was the renowned
Time Series and Random Fields analyst Professor
Dimitris N. Politis. |

Mr. Syed Manzur Elahi, Son of late Justice Sir
Nasim Ali, former Chief Justice of Kolkata High
Court, was the founder Chairman of Mutual Trust
Bank. He is a prominent business tycoon in Bangladesh
and is the chairman of Apex group, a leading business
organization in Bangladesh. He is a man of pleasant
personality and enjoys an impeccable reputation
and respect. He has made significant contribution
in various industrial & business enterprises
including Banking. He did his M. A. in Economics
from University of Dhaka. Mr. Manzur joined the
former Pakistan Tobacco after graduation. He left
the prestigious job to start his own tannery business
which is a large Group, Apex Group today. After
tremendous success in the business, he gradually
entered into other types of businesses. Mr. Elahi
is the Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks,
Vice Chairman, Bangladesh Association of Publicly
Listed Companies and Director of ACI. |

Caretaker Govt. of Bangladesh twice for his leadership
qualities and professionalism. He is the founder
Chairman of Apex Tannery Group, Pioneer Insurance
Co. Limited, Grey Advertising (Bangladesh) Ltd.,
President of East West University and Director
of International Chamber of Commerce, International
Publications Ltd. He was director of Bangladesh
Bank, Sonali Bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Export
Promotion Bureau and Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
& Industry. Besides being an eminent industrialist
and businessman, Mr. Elahi is the Honorary Consul
of the Republic of Belgium in Bangladesh. A widely
traveled man in connection with business and industrial
establishments Mr. Elahi was awarded "Business
Executive of the year 2000" by the American
Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh and later "Business
Person of the Year" award sponsored by DHL
and The Daily Star. |
